Description
Aircraft typically fly between 31,000 – 38,000 feet high. The first successful flight in history of a self-propelled, heavier than air craft was made by Orville and Wilbur Wright. Orville piloted the gasoline powered propeller driven biplane which stays aloft for about 12 seconds and covered around 120 feet on its inaugural flight. Orville and Wilbur Wright inspired and had an interest in aviation after learning the aviation flights of the German engineer Otto Lilienthal. Even though Orville and Wilbur did not attend college they still possessed extraordinary talent in technical ability and a sophisticated approach to solving mechanical design issues.
